Chennai sangamam.. Wake up call??

Hello friends,

Chennai sangamam!! Now what’s that, well lemme elaborate to those who are making a living outside Chennai, those who are in Chennai guess they don’t need an explanation, It’s one of the good things that happens right away during the harvest festival of Tamil culture called ’PONGAL’.. like it brings the mood of the festive season to the city souls for whom pongal means a day break from work and to watch all craps on television in between the advertisement!! But for the past few years it’s getting better and better atleast during pongal,

Its one of the honourable initiative by the Tamilnadu Government, in which the artists from rural parts of the states gets a chance or a stage to expose their wonderful talent infront of an audience for whom entertainment means a cinema at the multiplex, shopping at gigantic malls, but once you experience the sangamam i bet you friend you will feel the village beat, yes our heart beats all the time but there are moments when we feel the heart beat this is one moment, we were stunned by the performance by these people, with the available resources they are doing an excellent job, we had mayilattam, uyilattam, folk songs, parayattam this one is my personal favourite, we all went crazy whistling, clapping and shouting at each performances, it came from heart, we really wanted to acknowledge them,

All this got a strong message to urban animals, the importance of protecting the greenery; they are begging us to don’t spread the development cancer to these virgin villages, they were portraying, in their dance and songs that the water is polluted, once harvesting fields now had become graveyards, i felt the tight slap!! we were wondering if things like this continues to happens this festival of harvest will also become history, development is the real demon, it’s like slow poisoning, it doesn’t mean that we should be against development, we are pushing the limit, when we get 80% we try for 90% or let it be 100%, we are committing crime and digging our grave by trying to get more and more, i was talking about the natural resources, the great APJ accentuated the importance of finding ways for renewal resources, we are on the race in sucking our own blood, it’s like the dog biting the bone poor fella is not knowing that he is tasting and enjoying his own blood,

I know now your eye brows are raised, what the hell, am not doing any harm to the nature; well we all have to accept the fact that we all are in the process of destructing our mother nature directly or indirectly, do something at least start conserving water, energy etc., these are some small drops of water which am not saying will create an ocean but atleast a pond to quench our thirst, think, think again, together we can, set your new year resolution on conservation of resources!! It’s a suggestion which harms nobody!! The clock starts ticking our time starts now..

love
